Porter service at Munich Airport "The Porters"
OUR SERVICE

Luggage transport
Our many years of experience and well-established organization are your advantage; we know all the routes, saving you valuable time. We have the right equipment to transport your luggage safely, whether it's skis, golf equipment, surfboards, or simply any amount of luggage.
We will greet you in the arrivals area, possibly with a name sign or logo, and transport your luggage. We are available to assist you if any luggage is missing and will inform your designated pick-up person of any resulting delays. If a wheelchair is required, we will provide one. We will pick you up from the S-Bahn (suburban train) or take you to the S-Bahn station or parking garage and assist you with loading your luggage.
Put us to the test - we look forward to hearing from you!

Wrapping suitcases
In Terminal 1 Departure Level C and Terminal 2 Departure right by the information desk, you have the option of having your suitcase wrapped in foil. We also wrap child car seats, wheelchairs and other walking aids, as well as medium-sized bulky luggage such as children's bicycles, scooters, boxes, damaged suitcases and large bags. Skis are no problem either, and we can also wrap your boots securely.
Forgot to pack your bike? We offer a service to pack your bicycle for air travel. Our boxes are specially designed for this purpose. Upon request, we can provide you with free tools for disassembling the handlebars, saddle, and pedals.

tour groups
We will meet you at the agreed meeting point, take your suitcases, load them onto our XXL trolleys and accompany you to your destination.
Years of collaboration with tour operators have given us a comprehensive understanding of the process. Even before the groups reach the baggage carousel after landing, we already know which suitcases need to be taken. This saves time.
Football or ice hockey teams don't cause us any panic. That's why we're the right people to support you with our services. If it's big, heavy, or a lot of work, we've certainly done it before.

-About Us-
Your luggage service with tradition
The Free Porters Association is your reliable partner at Munich Airport (MUC) for professional baggage and oversized cargo transport services. Our team consists of experienced porters who prioritize punctuality, a professional demeanor, and first-class customer service at Terminals 1 and 2. We aim not only to meet your expectations for our baggage service but to exceed them.
Historical
In the early 1960s, it was Mr. Wulf-Dieter Graf zu Castell, Managing Director of the then Munich-Riem Airport GmbH, who approached the porters at Munich Central Station and offered them the opportunity to provide their services at Riem Airport. A handful of porters accepted this offer in 1963. For the 1972 Munich Olympics, they recruited additional staff from the main station. For organizational reasons, they formed the Association of Independent Porters. From a work perspective, the porters operate as a well-coordinated team – only in this way is it possible to offer efficient and customer-friendly baggage service at a facility the size of today's Munich Airport (MUC).
